Death Book

Killing bosses is worthwhile again! Each boss in the Death Book provides several upgrades including offline/passive kills, reward multiplier, and more!

The Death Book was added with Version v2.19.0

Unlocking the Death Book

The Death Book is located in the Terror Graveyard, an area of the Energy Belt unlocked after beating the Super-Terror. Once clicked, it will display this message "This book is shut by an enchanted seal. Legend has it that this book is filled with ancient magical knowledge."

To unlock it, you will need the following resources:

• 100.000 Shards
• 500 Light Essence
• 500 Dark Essence
• 100 Strange Essence
• 10 Iridescent Essence
• 300Borb Ascension Juice

*It is recommended to have 242% Brew Multiplier and 200%+ Brew Critical Chance before brewing Iridescent Essence. This guarantees 10 Iridescent Essence per brew, as opposed to having a chance to brew 9 or less Iridescent Essences and falling short of the required 10 Iridescent Essences for Death Book.

Passive Boss Farming

Death Book gives timer bosses reward periodically, and is the only way to gain their rewards without manually defeating them. It gives both online and offline reward, but does not work with time skips. Sitting in an offline area while online reduces its timer by 1 additional minute for every minute in the area, effectively doubling rewards gained in the same amount of time. Unlike manual timer bosses farming, death book kills do not drop Cards or Relics.

Passive Boss Farming becomes many times better manually farming after maxing a Boss's Death Book. You can check your loot per Death Book cycle in your chosen boss's Death Book menu.

Boss Upgrades

Upgrade Basics

Each Boss can be upgraded up to Level 10 in six different Points for the cost of some Light Essence, Strange Essence or Iridescent Essence which can be acquired through Alchemy. Requirement for the Upgrades is that you have already killed the specific Boss 25 * 2ⁿ times (12.8k Kills for Level 10).

Strategy

Before Unlocking the Death Book (Part 1)

To unlock the Death Book, we need to maximize our Brewing, so we can get as much Strange and Iridescent Essence as possible with every brew. To do that, we need to to make 2 Plasma Crafted sets, using the following distributions:

A brew set for Iridescent (and Strange if active) Essence. (You want to get the most out every Iridescent brew, thus why this set is important)

A Brew set for Dark, Light (and Strange if AFK) Essence To make this set viable, we need to balance out our Brew Crit Chance and Brew Multi stats in the Stats menu (make the 2 stats equal in numbers). The Shard distribution on the set should be constantly changing to balance the 2 stats, thus why there are "?" instead of actual numbers.

With 100% Brew Crit Chance without a Crafted Set's bonuses, you want 31 Shards on Brew Crit Chance and 49 Shards on Brew Multi. This will balance both stats at 174% each.

With 150% Brew Crit Chance without a Crafted Set's bonuses, you want 20 Shards on Brew Crit Chance and 60 Shards on Brew Multi. This will balance both stats (roughly) 200% each.

With 200% Brew Crit Chance without a Crafted Set's bonuses, you want 8 Shards on Brew Crit Chance and 72 Shards on Brew Multi. This will balance both stats at (roughly) 225% each.

With 242% Brew Crit Chance without a Crafted Set's bonuses, you want 0 Shards on Brew Crit Chance and 80 Shards on Brew Multi. This won't balance both stats out, however that's fine as Brew Multi cannot be further increased yet.

To help reach the 10 Iridescent Essences required to purchase the Death Book, is is recommended to purchase all brewing related upgrades in the Gem Shop (Alchemyritical and SuperStirr, not the offline ones). After that, you should start saving gems for the Offline Brewing upgrade, in the Gem Shop. It is recommended to get Offline Brew Rate to as high as possible, and get at least 3/10 Offline Brew Count.

After Unlocking the Death Book (Part 2)

For the rest of this guide, Death Book/Kill Count upgrades will be numbered, for example; 8/4

Maxing Witch's Death Book to 10/10 is infinitely better than manually killing witch. But for now, you need to manually farm Witch kills just a little longer. Get your Death Book to 8/0, first 4 upgrades shouldn't take too long, but it might take some time to get from 4 to 8. Now, move onto Kill Count. You wanna get 4 levels of that. This might take even longer, but it's very worth it.

If you get at least 25 kills/hr (8/4 should give you enough), AFK in an offline area instead (The Dark Glade is recommended). Being in offline areas effectively double the Death Book efficiency (this is because every minute that passes in offline areas reduces the Death Book cooldown by a minute as well). Now, your goal is to get 10/4. That is the final stretch. After that, you are done with the Death Book for Energy Belt. Make sure to keep enough Shards on Witch Essence multiplier so you'll always get at least 3,600 Cosmic Essences, 3,600 Earth Essences, 3,600 Leaf Essences, and 3,600 Water Essences, and put the rest on Brew Crit Chance%. After achieving 10/4, brewing more Strange and Iridescent isn't necessary. You should instead use the DE/LE Brew Set to brew both Transformation Shards and Fusion Shards, in order to permanently brew Card Parts.

Soul Boosting (Part 3)

Make sure to follow this part of the guide only after unlocking the Fire Fields Portal. That is because the Fire Fields bosses do not gain an increase in damage when soul boosted, and they give the highest amount of Raw Soul Stone per kill.

Firstly, kill Green Flame once, and unlock "Craft Sacred Leaves" in the Coal Leaves Shop. Then, craft a fully sharded and ascended Brew Coal Set with 80 Brew Multi Shards, enough shards on Witch Essence Multiplier to reach permabrewing ( ~8800 of each of the 4 essence per cycle is required to permanently brew Dark/Light Essences without ever running out of the required materials (the required amount assumes that the Gem Shop upgrade "Bearo Hearts Boosts" is activated, otherwise the requirement will be less), and with the rest of the shards, spend them on Brew Crit Chance.

Before continuing on with the guide, 100%+ Heat Resistance is required. While you can theoretically follow the rest of the guide without it, it's really not recommended.

AFK in an offline area (The Dark Glade is recommended), and level Witch's Death Book to 10/8. Then, level Green Flame's Soul Boost Chance to 1/10 and level Soul Boost Pity Counter as high as you can. Get enough Raw Soul Stones to get Witch's Death Book to 10/10, and then get Witch's Death Book to 10/10/1/0/1/x. At this point, you should be good to move to Soul Realm. After that, level up Green Flame's Death Book and Kill Count to as high as you can. This is because Green Flame drops 9 base Raw Soul Stone per Soul Boosted kill, and because it doesn't gain an increase in health when Soul Boosted. Before getting enough kills for 4/4, manually kill Green Flame until you get enough. Then, AFK in an offline area until you have enough kills for 10/10 Green Flame's Death Book. Note that this should be done after getting a few of the Soul Shop Brew Multiplier upgrades first.

After getting 10/10 Green Flame's Death Book, you wanna start leveling every other Green Flame's Death book upgrade to 10. It's important to know that each stat that Soul Boost Chance, Drop Count and Passive Soul Boost Chance cost Raw Soul Stone after getting 4 upgrades. And since it's relatively cheap, it's not that difficult to get enough Raw Soul Stone to level up from 4 to 10. After maxing Green Flame's Death Book (10/10/10/10/10/10), you are pretty much set on Raw Soul Stone, and are done with the Death Book for this part of the game. The Death Book will always come in handy for various resources, but in terms of Brewing and obtaining Raw Soul Stones, you have pretty much finished.
