Borbventures

Boost your stats with Borbventures! Recruit and send out borbs and they will return with items galore. They were added in v2.18.0.

Overview

Borbventures are available after buying Unlock Borbventures from the MLC Coin shop.

To begin your Borbventures you first need to obtain some Borb Juice either by using the Borb Sword Tool on Borbs or by converting Borbs. The Juice can then be converted into Borb Tokens until you have at least 100. Now you can recruit your first Common Borb in the Borbs Tab and send it to a Borbventure. Take the lowest level Borbventure and click one of the two white squares to add your Borb. If you have enough Borb Tokens you can start the Borbventure. For a better success chance you can either add a second Borb or upgrade your Borbs.

Borbventures

In the Borbventures Tab you can send your Borbs on adventures to find resources, items and consumables. To start an adventure you need to have the number of Borb Tokens to the left of the blue arrow and one or two Borbs selected in the white Squares. After 5 minutes (at level 1) you can finish the adventure and get the items to the right of the blue arrow if succeeded (you can't finish item quests if your inventory is full!) When all Borbventures are done you need to refresh for 50 Borb Juice.

Borbventure refresh duration is 30 minutes and can be reduced by the upgrades Refresh Tutorial (Borbventure Shop max. -20%, Gem Shop max. -10%) and Socks items.

Borbventure Levels begin with a possible range from level 1 to 10 (common). Higher Levels means more experience and longer duration but lower success chance. To get higher levels (uncommon 11+) the range (top right) must be pushed up by collecting Cape items to boost Borbventure Rarity (for example 10%=1-11, 20%=2-12).

Scale min level On means the lower number of the range goes up with the higher one (for example 1-12 if turned Off and 2-12 when On).

Borbventure Experience is fully granted to both Borbs if successfull and is needed to upgrade them. It can be upgraded by the Efficiency Tutorial (Borb Shop max. +20%, Gem Shop max. +12.5%), Ribbon items and Special Borbs.

Borbventure Duration depends on the adventure-level and can be reduced by the Ring item and Special Borbs.

Success chance depends on the adventure-level, the combined levels/rarity of the Borbs or Special Borbs and the Glasses item.

Borbventure reward (output) can be pushed by Special Borbs and the Pirate Hat Item.

Borbs (Borbventurers)

Borbs and Special Borbs begin their Borbventure-Life as Level 1 common Borbs and gain Experience by finishing Borbventures. With enough Experience and some Borb Juice they can be upgraded to Level 10 and then ascended to Level 1 of the next rarity for the cost of some Ascension Juice. Upgraded/Ascended Borbs have a higher Borbventure success chance (internal - the base Success Chance in the description does not change).

Item Crafting and Ascending

Items can also be crafted using Borb Runes. The cost of crafting a random item is 30 Borb Rune. The cost of crafting specific Item increases by 15 Borb Runes starting from 60 for a Common Item. Cost of crafting can be further reduced down to 65% through upgrades (Borbventure Shop max: -25%, Gem Shop max: -10%).

Multiple copies of the same item can be ascended into a higher rarity. The amount of copies required for ascension increases by 2 starting from 10 copies for a Common Item. Number of copies can be further reduced by -5 through Borbventure Shop's Upgrade Tutorial. The cost is as follows:

Tip: It is only recommended to Ascend Uncommon to Rare once if you still don't have its Rare counterpart and you want to get it instantly. The reason is crafting a Rare Item, at the minimum, is -59 Borb Runes (65% of 90) but selling the minimum amount of Uncommon Item copies, which is 7 ( 12 minus 5), will be +42 Borb Runes (7 copies times 6 Borb Runes). Ascending this amount of copies, losing them and without scraping them, will cost you an additional -32 Borb Runes or -42 -32 = -74 Borb Runes in total. It will cost you -15 additional Borb Runes and the 7 copies of that Uncommon Item if you Ascend instead of Crafting its Rare counterpart for 59 Borb Runes while keeping the 7 Uncommon Copies. Also, it is worth the Borb Runes to ascend Common to Uncommon, but still not recommended (-35 Borb Runes and 5 copies of that Common Item vs. -49 Borb Runes while keeping that 5 copies).

Strategy

Starting Borbventures

Before starting, it is highly recommended saving up Gems for the Auto start Borbventures and the Auto finish Borbventures Gem Shop upgrades. They are INSANELY helpful and save a lot of time. You can obviously start the guide without them, but try and get them ASAP.

Currently, the best way of getting Borb Juice/Borb Tokens is from Converters. Specifically, the Borb Juice Converter [static], and the Borb Token Converter [static]. It is recommended purchasing the Converters Static Output +400% upgrade from the Gem Shop, as it effectively quintuples the amount of Borb Juice andBorb Tokens per conversion. It is recommended getting a Trade Global Multiplier crafted set in order to get enough Borbs from trades to start converting.

Your goal now should be getting 35 Borb Ascension Juice to buy Unlock Borbiana Jones Borb from the Borbventure Shop, as it's by far the best Special Borb. You should also start Borbventures for Item Boxes, Candies, Borb Recruits and Borb Runes. You can open the Item Boxes (and scrap everything that isn't Capes, Socks and Backpacks) for extra items, use the Borb Recruits for the chance of getting a Borbiana Jones, use a Time Candy to reduce Refresh Cooldown (scrap Experience Candy), and you'll need Borb Runes. This is to prepare for the next step.

After unlocking Borbiana Jones, try to get a full roster of them. You can do this step while working on the next as well.

Instant Refresh

As you probably already know, refreshing Borbventures has a cooldown. But, with enough Socks items (78 of each rarity to be exact) you can reduce this cooldown to an instant. Make sure to purchase the Refresh Tutorial upgrades from the Gem Shop and Borbventure Shop (only purchase Gem Shop Refresh Tutorial after purchasing the Auto start Borbventures and the Auto finish Borbventures upgrades).

First, you should get level 11-30 Borbventures. Open Item Boxes (scrap anything that isn't Socks, Backpacks and Capes) and craft Capes to increase the level. You may need to increase the item cap for the Capes, so you should craft Backpacks to do so.

After getting levels 11-30 Borbventures, it's time to get Socks. The strategy is as follows:

• The end goal is to get 78 Socks of each rarity. To do that, you'd obviously need a massive amount of Borb Runes. You should only accept Borbventures for Borb Ascension Juice (to ascend your Borbiana Jones, and to unlock the Death Book), Item Boxes (to get Socks and Backpacks), Borb Runes (for, well, Borb Runes), Candies ( Time Candies to reduce the Refresh Cooldown, and Experience Candies to scrap for Borb Runes, and Borb Recruits (scrapping gives Borb Runes). You should also accept Borbventures for Borb Tokens if the finish amount is higher than the cost for it.
• Scrap anything that isn't Socks/ Backpacks (keep level at 11-30) when opening Item Boxes. This is because the other items aren't useful at the moment.
• Craft Epic, Mythical and Legendary Socks and Backpacks with Borb Runes. You shouldn't craft Common, Uncommon and Rare Socks/ Backpacks, as they can be easily obtained from Item Boxes/Common Borbventure Packs. You should craft enough Backpacks until the item cap is increased by +1, then craft Epic, Mythical and Legendary Socks until cap and repeat. This obviously isn't required, but it's recommended.
• In order to get Epic and Mythical rarity Socks/ Backpacks, you should open Legendary Borbventure Packs. Alternatively, you can also ascend your previous tiers for the rarity increase (make sure to buy the Upgrade Tutorial upgrade from the Borbventure Shop for that). It's best to ascend your Mythical items for the Legendary rarity rather than trying to get it from a Legendary Borbventure Pack. After getting both rarities for both items, open Common Borbventure Packs instead.
• After reaching Refresh Timer < 10 minutes, stop scrapping Rings. These will start being useful once your Refresh Timer becomes less than the amount of time it takes to complete a Borbventure.

Alternative Method

This is a less efficient alternative way of getting to Instant Refresh. This method only works in Fire Fields and above.

This method is mostly the same, except that you don't need to do any Borbventures for it. You might already know that Green Flame and Spectralseeker both have a chance to drop Item Boxes on kill. That amount is low, sure, but with the Death Book, that amount gets really high. Essentially, all you need to do is just... wait. Preferably in an Offline Area as Death Book is faster in Offline Areas. With all the Item Boxes and Borb Runes you get, you can either craft Socks, Backpacks and Rings until capped and go to the next section, or you can not and just craft all the items with the same strategy. This method is less efficient than the other method, as you still need enough Heat Resistance to defeat the Fire Fields bosses countless times for the Death Book kill requirement.

After Instant Refresh

You got instant refresh! However, there are still things you should be working on.

• Spam refresh and only start Borbventures for 7+ Rare Item Boxes or 70+ Borb Runes. When opening the Rare Item Boxes, don't scrap the following until capped: Rings, Heat Shield, Pirate Hats, Death Books, Leaf Blowers, Trouts, Backpacks and Magic Leaves.
• With your Borb Runes, craft Rings of each rarity (including Common, Uncommon and Rare) until you get 78 of each rarity. This is to get Borbventures time to the minimum of 30 seconds.
• After getting 30 seconds Borbventures time, craft 91 of each rarity of the following items (in the respective order): Heat Shield (until Heat Resistance >= 100%) --> Backpack --> Death Book --> Leaf Blowers --> Trouts --> Magic Leaves --> Pirate Hats.

Maximizing Borb Ascension Juice

In Soul Realm, there are 2 versions of Souls brews; a quadrupled Borb Ascension Juice one (costs all the base materials + Borb Ascension Juice), and a normal one. It is highly recommended brewing the Borb Ascension Juice version, as it quadruples efficiency. Before starting, you should get enough Capes to increase your Borbventures level to 36-60. This is only viable with the Auto start Borbventures and Auto finish Borbventures Gem Shop upgrades. You should set Success Chance to 100%, and you should have 8 Borbiana Jones for this method to work. When doing this avoid having an odd number of borbventurers as Auto start Borbventures will continually refresh looking for a quest low enough for one borbventurer to complete, which is a waste of Borb Juice.

Firstly, you should farm Spectralseeker's Cards. Because it gives Borbventure Reward Multiplier, is it greatly efficient for Borb Ascension Juice. You can also cap all Pirate Hats for a small increase in Borbventure Reward Multiplier as well. (small increase compared to Spectralseeker's Cards).

After defeating Soul Mirage, you unlock it's Cards and is now able to get endless Brew Multiplier. Soon enough, the normal versions of Souls brews will be more efficient than the Borb Ascension Juice ones.

Notes

• With all of the rarity of Backpack item maxed, you can have up to 91.9 total item count or just 91 since it rounds down to the nearest whole number giving you a maximum of 91 times the power of each item at max. Getting 1 of each rarity gives 0.9 extra item count, having 10 of each rarity gives 9 extra item count or 19 item count in total that's why it can reach 91.9 total from 81.9 extra item count from 91 backpacks and the 10 base item count. Although 91 is the maximum item count, 90 Backpacks of each rarity will already give 81 extra item count or 91 in total so having 1 more of each rarity will only give 0.9 extra item count which is pointless since it always round down to 0 extra item count.
