Progression/Obsidian

This guide will cover the most optimal way to get from unlocking Obsidian Leaves to all the preparations done for Mega Leaf Crunch.
This guide will cover a lot of new mechanics, so if you're confused, click the links for more information.
Key Gem Upgrades
This strategy does rely a bit on It's Mine! to be faster, so get that.
At this point, you need to save for MLCx3 - it is by far the biggest timesave out of any reasonably priced Gem upgrade in this section.
Obsidian Leaves - The Cheese Pub
By now, you should have Mulched Trade Caps at level 8 and have Trading Education at at least level 1. You should also preferably have both Lava and Mythical Seeds at (at least) level 1.
Trade for Obsidian, Silicon, and Benitoite leaves. Note that you don't need to unlock the Seeds for Obsidian and Benitoite leaves; because they have no fertilizer, their seeds are 50x rarer, so it's not worth grinding.
While waiting for these trades, grab the Leaf Sword for 5e15 Lava Leaves (wait with Raccoono for Seeds to get this). Equip the Leaf Sword on your ALBs and watch that Mulch roll in! Details for what to spend it on will be found below.
Note that you should use Penguino while accepting the trade, but during the time where the trade is happening equip Cheesetor for some extra Cheese, as you're going to need it.
If you get trades that will allow you to unlock level 1 of a new type of Seed, accept those trades as well. Try to get as many new Seeds and seed farm.
Once you have Benitoite Leaves, unlock Borbs and grab the BLC upgrades in all 3 shops so far. Congratulations, you have skipped nearly every single area that was intended for progression.
Now, equip Borbo Pet and sit in any area to wait for Borbs. They spawn just like regular leaves, but are much heavier and are far rarer. It should only take a couple minutes to get the 500 Borbs required for the Cheese Pub.
The Cheese Pub
There are 5 things you can do here - visit the Bartender, the Borb Claw Machine, the Slot Machine, the Leaf Counter, and the Curse Game.
First off, the Curse Game. It's a fun (or infuriating) mini-golf-like game in which you are supposed to navigate the Cheese to the Beer without it hitting the Cursed Cheese. There isn't much reward for this apart from some achievements, which aren't necessary.
Next, the Leaf Counter. Every 2 minutes, you can click the button to count. This will give you damage the higher your count is. Don't use the betting feature, it's useless.
Next, the Bartender. The Bartender allows you to trade random materials for Cheese and Beer. This is a great way to get more Cheese paired with the Claw Machine. Don't get Beer trades - it's a waste.
Next, the Slot Machine. You pay Cheese to roll the Slots, and if you get 3 of the same "category" of reward, y ou get a reward from that category. Generally this isn't worth it, but this is guaranteed to drop the Zoo Necklace in 50 spins, an artifact that increases the max amount of Pets you can equip by 1. Be sure you save at least 150 Cheese for this.
And finally, the Borb Claw Machine. This is the best part of the Cheese Pub, being your main source of Equipment, Curses, Gems, Materials, and Silver/Gold Tokens. It is recommended to only using this once you have gotten some levels of the Insert More Mulch, Mulched Claw, and Cursed Pub upgrades in the Mulch Shop.
General List of What to Prioritize in the Borb Claw Machine:
1. Chests
2. Gems
3. Useful Equipment ( Zoo Ring, Cursed Cheese)
4. Curses
5. Materials for Bartender
6. Cheese
If you don't see any of these, you should probably just refresh the Claw Machine. This can be done by (PC only) pressing Tab twice while having Autoplay enabled, or if you're on mobile, clicking out of the menu and back into the Claw Machine with Autoplay enabled.
Now, it's time to start preparing for the massive BLC grind ahead.
The Cheese Pub - The Leaf Tower
We need to grind 100b (1e11) BLC Coins for the The Leaf Tower, so we have to use everything at our disposal.
With your current disposal of BLC Coins, buy the following:
- Unlock Crafting - 500k (5e5) BLC Coins
- Unlock Materials - 250k (2.5e5) BLC Coins
- Craft Forge (3/3) - ~14m (1.4e7) BLC Coins
- Craft Hammer (25/25)
You are going to be using the Claw Machine a lot, so hopefully you got a lot of Mulch from the Leaf Sword earlier. Buy:
- Insert More Mulch (5/5)
- Leaf Counter Macro (5/5)
- Cursed Pub (50/50)
- Material Pub (10/10)
- Mulched Claw (25/25)
Now, Crafting. This is a feature that can generate you a LOT of extra BLC Coins.
We really only want Lava crafts (if you don't want to grind as much, settle for Mythical), as anything else isn't really worth it. Turn Auto Salvage up to Mythical (or Celestial), and turn on Auto Crafting. Hopefully, within a few hundred Cheese, you should have 6 Lava leaves with BLC+ or BLC% in your inventory. If you get within ~100 Cheese, go back to the Claw Machine and farm materials for the Bartender Quests, picking up Cheese if you don't find the materials.
Hopefully you have a good stockpile of Celestial - Ice (and Silicon) Leaves from all that seed farming. Buy every single Moar BLC upgrade you can. Equip the Shovel and Doggo, wait for Flasks, and buy all the BLC Science and BLC++ upgrades in the various Flask shops.
Now, equip Foxo and activate Ghost Leaf. You should hopefully be able to BLC for 6-8b (6e9-8e9) BLC Coins. If you have the It's Mine! Gem Shop upgrade, buy every single tool you can. The notable ones are THE HIGHTECH DRILL and THE HIGHTECH SHOVEL. Now, BLC.
With your BLC Coins that you just got, buy the following:
- Unlock Artifacts - 50m (5e7) BLC Coins
- ALBs <3 Artifacts - 10m (1e7) BLC Coins
- Offline Artifacts (2/2) - 80m (8e7) BLC Coins
- As much Offline Crunches and Offline BLC as you can afford
Now it should really only take a couple hours until you can afford The Leaf Tower. This is the next major step in progression, as you are going to need to climb The Leaf Tower up to Floor 100 before you can reach the next progression stage.
100b BLC Coins - The Leaf Tower Floor 100
First, Artifacts. Every so often, Artifacts will spawn in certain areas for limited times. The first 3 Artifacts you are going to want to get are the Compass, the Time Crystal, and the Water Seal. All of these have a 1 minute spawn cycle, so it shouldn't take too long to get them. These are all permanent unlocks, rather than the consumables that other Artifacts are. The Compass allows you to see where Artifacts spawn, the Time Crystal allows you to see the time until Artifacts spawn, and the Water Seal unlocks The Hidden Sea, which for our purposes is going to be used to get a Unique Leaf, the Water Leaf.
Buy the Abandoned Research Station (1b (1e9) BLC Coins in Areas tab) and you'll have access to The Hidden Sea. Get 1m (1e6) Obsidian Leaves again, equip the Fan, and get the Water Leaf. It's one of the better ones, decreasing trade refresh, which will help later.
You can go for other Unique Leaves if you want, but the only other one you really need is Nuclear Leaf, which needs Benitoite Leaves. Trade for both the required leaves, and when they're finished pick these up.
In the meantime, head back to The Cheese Pub. Remember that pet slot in the Slot Machine? Well, it's an Artifact. Keep rolling the Slot Machine, and stop once you get the Artifact.
If you ever see that the Artifacts Gravity Ball (in Celestial Plane), Wind (in The Hidden Sea), or Vortex (in the Abandoned Research Station) have spawned, pick them up immediately - the first 2 are very useful for The Leaf Tower grind and the third is useful for later.
Now, The Leaf Tower. Basically, The Leaf Tower is a gauntlet of enemies, requiring 10 enemies to be beaten before you progress through the next floor. The higher the floor, the more damage required to beat the enemies.
You will find a new tab once you unlock The Leaf Tower called Equipment.
Equipment will be an important source of damage for The Leaf Tower. Your main method of Equipment will be, as discussed before, the Claw Machine. The most useful equipment are the Zoo Ring, the BLC Ring, and the Cursed Cheese.
The Zoo Ring grants an extra pet slot, incredibly useful.
The BLC Ring is a good early damage source before you get more curses. It scales off crunches, which you should have a lot of thanks to Offline BLC.
The Cursed Cheese is most of your damage from Equipment. It scales off Curses, which are incredibly easy to farm. Once you have a couple hundred curses, it can outscale BLC Rings.
If you went ahead and killed some enemies in the The Leaf Tower, you will have noticed that they drop Tokens. These can be used to buy upgrades in the respective shop. The best way of getting tokens is from Chests, which can come from - you guessed it, the Claw Machine (albeit at a very low drop rate). These give a massive amount of Silver and Gold Tokens, which will improve your base damage a lot.
Note that if you are in a challenge, chests don't spawn in the Claw Machine, so this won't work for something like World of Leafcraft.
Priority for Silver Token Shop:
- Borb Tower Taxi
- Leaf Damage
- Leaf Damage Multiplier
All the other upgrades are pretty useless.
Priority for Gold Token Shop:
- All the one-time purchases upgrades
- Leaf Damage
- Leaf Damage Multiplier
The health upgrades are pretty useless.
Now, it's claw time. Keep playing claw until you have gotten a couple hundred curses, a chest, and a few Cursed Cheese. You need around 5e8 (500m) damage to defeat Tower Floor 100 with Gravity Ball + Wind.
Open your chest, spend your tokens, and now, it's time to blitz through the tower.
Equip THE HIGHTECH DRILL with the pets Crabbo, Butterflyo, and Owlo.
It was not tested if Trouto is better than Owlo at this stage, but you can assume Owlo's better when not using Gravity Balls. Feel free to test yourself.
If you ever need more damage, just go back and farm more Claw Machine.
Pre MLC Preparation
So, you've finally beaten Bob (floor 100 boss). Now, you'll see a shiny new prestige, called Mega Leaf Crunch (MLC). As tempting as it may be to click it, do not. You will need some preparation before you can do it.
MLC resets most of your progress, but it also keeps a lot of it, such as Equipment, Curses, unlocked Pets and Unique Leaves, and probably most importantly, highest BLC. This will allow you to keep your crazy BLC Coins gain as soon as you get the first level of Offline Crunches and Offline BLC, as if you remember, Offline BLC is based on your highest crunch.
First of all, you'll notice that you can MLC for around 10-13 MLC Coins, depending on your current held amount of BLC Coins. That's low. The strategy is to buy an upgrade that costs 40 MLC Coins in the first 2 MLCs that you do. Buy MLCx3, if you haven't done so already. If you don't have the 350 Gems required, go and farm the Claw Machine for it, ideally picking up a few Chests as well that you can save for your next MLC. Now, you should be able to MLC for 30-39 MLC Coins.
If you have bought any DLC from the Supporter Shop, you will get a lot more than 30-39 because of the MLC bonus in Supporter Perks, meaning that you don't have to do a 2nd MLC to buy the 40 MLC Coins upgrade.
Now, if you have a few hundred Curses and a 6-8b (6e9-8e9) highest BLC, it's time to MLC.
Enjoy the next progression stage (Progression/MLC)!
